Our Values, Vision & Aims
Our vision draws inspiration from the Parable of the Sower which is found in the gospel of Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23 in the New Testament. It supports our Mission Statement of 'Sowing excellence, harvesting enjoyment'.
We provide the rich soil that enables our children to develop deep roots and flourish. Within our rural community, our small Christian school nurtures growth, giving courage to face challenge, and abundant opportunities for unique strengths to blossom. Everyone feels valued and has respect for themselves and others, and hope for the brightest future.
A farmer sows seed in a field:
- Some seed falls on the paths, and the birds quickly eat it.
- Some seed falls where there are rocks, and not much soil. Plants grow quickly, but soon the sun dries them. There is not enough soil, and the plants die.
- Some seed begins to grow in a place where there are too many weeds. The weeds stop the growth of the plants, and the plants die.
- But other seed falls on good ground. So, the plants grow well. The farmer has a harvest from these plants.
Our school is the good ground that allows all who come into contact with it to grow well. Its seeds (the pupils, staff and community) are given a rich diet to thrive into the best ‘plant’ possible. Our seeds are cared for during all ‘seasons’, given support and protection when it is needed and encouragement to flourish. The plants are strong and resilient, able to live peacefully and joyfully with those around them. The rich harvest is the end result of this labour for pupils, staff and the community – the brightest of futures.
Our aims as a school are;
To be inspired by Jesus
Always try your best and be positive
Be kind and friendly towards others
Love and respect our school and God
Listen to others, share and take turns
Always be polite, helpful and truthful
Be a proud and happy member of our school
To know we are created in God’s image
To fulfil these aims, as a whole school community, we strive to show our values of:
Perseverance – we will not give up when things are difficult
Friendship – we will always be kind and friendly to each other
Respect – we will show respect to others at all times
Trust – we will trust God to guide us in the right direction
Truthfulness – we will be honest with ourselves and each other
Creativity – we will value God's creation and use it to inspire our own creativity
