Key Stage 1 Teacher

We are looking to appoint a creative, dynamic and outstanding practitioner for our Foundation and Key Stage 1 class from September 2023. You would be teaching our 20 Year 1 and Year 2 children in the mornings, being joined by our 11 Foundation pupils for the afternoon. In addition, you would be supported by a TA in the mornings and two TAs every afternoon. A generous amount of PPA is also included.

Heddington CE VA Primary School must be seen to be fully appreciated. We are a very popular and over-subscribed school with 75 children currently on roll. We are fortunate to be located in an idealic area of Wiltshire, surrounded by countryside, and also have a school building to be proud of, including a brand new extension which was completed in January 2023.  The successful candidate will:

  •  Be an excellent and dynamic classroom teacher, displaying high standards in teaching and a secure understanding of individual pupils’ needs and learning.
  •  Be able to plan for and assess children’s learning effectively, in order to ensure each child receives teaching of the highest quality and learns as a rounded individual.
  •  Be committed to creative teaching and active and effective learning.
  •  Have secure knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  •  Be able to lead and inspire a team of Teaching Assistants working alongside you.
  •  Be an excellent communicator committed to the team and school community as a whole.
  •  Be prepared to take an active role in the life of the school.
  •  Be able to work as part of a team and willing to go the extra mile!
  •  Be fun loving and have a sense of humour.

We welcome applications from experienced teachers who can demonstrate outstanding practice, have high expectations of themselves and others and are able to inspire pupils to achieve. An interest in English would be advantageous although not necessary. Job shares would be considered for this position – either 2½ days or 3½ days.  Named Pupil Teaching Assistant

 

We are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to work with a named pupil (current Year 2) from 17th April 2023 or sooner if available. The pupil will need support with learning, playing and behaviour management and regulation and experience in these areas would be beneficial.

Time is allocated at 23¾ hours per week (term time only) 9am – 12pm & 12.30pm – 2.15pm - Monday - Friday

Salary is from £21,968 (£11.39p/h) - £22,777 (£11.81p/h)
